The Trinity and the Deity of Christ in Scripture
One God, Three Persons — Jesus Is Lord
Christian worship is directed to one God who has revealed Himself in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This is not three gods, but one God in perfect unity.
Jesus Christ is both fully God and fully man. He lived a perfect, sinless life as a true human being, yet He also claimed a divine nature that belongs only to God. Jesus Himself declared His deity. In John 8:58 He said, “Before Abraham was, I am.” In John 10:30 He stated, “I and the Father are one.” John 1:1 and 14 tell us that the Word was God and that the Word became flesh. Colossians 2:9 confirms that “in Him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily.”
The Old Testament already pointed to this truth. Isaiah 7:14 promises Immanuel — “God with us.” Isaiah 9:6 names the Messiah “Mighty God.” Micah 5:2 speaks of One whose origins are from everlasting, born in Bethlehem.
Yet many people make a tragic mistake. They deny the existence of the true God and place themselves on the throne. They elevate their own will, their own desires, and their own opinions as the highest authority. In doing so, they displace the Creator of life and all things, and set themselves up as their own god.
But the truth remains: there is one God, and Jesus Christ is His Son — the sinless Savior who came to redeem us. Understanding who Christ is leaves us with a clear choice. We can continue ruling our own lives, or we can surrender to the One who is Lord of all.

“Lord Jesus, I confess that I have lived for myself and placed my own will above Yours. I believe You are the Son of God, that You died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my own way and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Come into my life, forgive me, and make me new. I trust in You alone. Amen.”
